Facilities Systems Management Intern

As an intern you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems in York, PA, is seeking a Facilities Systems Management Intern eager to gain hands-on experience that complements their technical coursework. The selected candidate will work at the intersection of facilities management and data systems, leveraging Oracle eAM to streamline maintenance workflows, ensure data integrity, and provide actionable business intelligence. Additionally, the intern will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Space Planning, and Accounting to enhance the operational efficiency of the Facilities and Maintenance organization. This internship opportunity is from June to December 2026, open to candidates available for full-time hours (40 hours/week) during the summer and part-time hours throughout the fall. This opportunity is 100% Onsite. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided.

As Facilities Systems Management Intern you will:

  • Systems Documentation: Draft comprehensive work instructions for Oracle eAM to standardize user processes and ensure consistent system utilization across the organization.
  • Data Management: Execute large-scale data entry, auditing, and cleaning within Oracle eAM to maintain a high-quality asset registry and maintenance history.
  • Business Intelligence & Reporting: Develop and maintain complex reports and dashboards using SQL, TOAD, OBIEE, and Power BI to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintenance trends.
  • Process Optimization: Map detailed process flows for Work Order Management, identify bottlenecks, and propose systemic improvements to reduce equipment downtime.
  • CMMS Maintenance: Maintain and improve the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), equipment history databases, and technical documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance technicians and facilities leadership to translate operational needs into technical system requirements.
  • Operational Communication: Coordinate with affected departments to communicate machine or building outages related to in-house project work.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (specifically Power BI).
  • Strong ability to analyze raw data, identify patterns, and translate them into professional process documentation.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Prior internship experience within a manufacturing or corporate facilities environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Exposure to industrial manufacturing, control systems, or similar industrial technologies.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software or ERP systems (Oracle experience is a significant plus).

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $46437 - $62721 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
