POSITION PURPOSE
The project management intern is responsible for training in the plant environment, field operations, and project management.This position will become familiar with: all plant operations to understand Metromont manufacturing processes; field operations and erection; and exposure to real-world project management practices to develop essential skills and gain valuable experience in managing projects from start to finish.
Position Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gain exposure to plant operations including these departments:
    • Production
    • Steel Fab
    • Material Handling
    • Quality Control
    • Carpentry Shop
  • Participate in project site visits to gain understanding of the erection process
  • Assist in project planning through the development of schedules and timelines
  • Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
  • Works independently with close supervision
  • Reporting structure varies based on location
  • Mentor assigned for daily support and interaction

Position Requirements
EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Science Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE
  • Works in the plant and office environment
  • Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; hours may very while training in production areas
  • Plant work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions
  • Indoor, outdoor/sheltered and unsheltered
  • Noise level is moderate

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE)
  • Safety glasses
  • High-visibility vest
  • Hard hat
  • Steel-toed shoes
  • Hearing protection
  • Gloves (various types)
PPE only required with working in the plant
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a hybrid plant and office position that requires sitting, standing, and walking. This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs
