Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Critical Care ED Educator RN, you will help clinical teams elevate their professional expertise and nursing practice so they can deliver the highest standard of care in high-acuity environments.

Every day you will facilitate clinical drills for high-risk situations, lead interdisciplinary briefings, and coordinate educational initiatives that align with patient safety goals. You will be expected to utilize diverse methodologies to identify learning needs, perform follow-ups on competency validations, and act as a change agent to foster a culture of clinical excellence.

You will demonstrate a keen understanding of systems thinking, program evaluation, and perinatal care standards, along with exceptional interpersonal savvy to navigate complex political landscapes and build rapport with business partners.   • Strategic Educational Leadership: Conduct annual needs assessments in collaboration with Critical Care and ED leadership to design, implement, and evaluate high-impact educational programs that align with organizational goals and patient safety mandates.
  • Clinical Skill Development & Mentorship: Facilitate comprehensive onboarding, ongoing specialty training, and high-risk competency validations (e.g., mock codes, airway management) using evidence-based practice and adult learning principles.
  • Quality & Safety Oversight: Drive the implementation of critical care and ED safety initiatives, monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting data-driven outcomes to clinical and administrative leadership.
  • Performance Improvement & Analysis: Lead or support clinical performance improvement projects by analyzing unit data, identifying practice gaps, and integrating research findings to improve efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant for the healthcare team, actively participating in committees and rounds to foster a culture of continuous learning, interdisciplinary communication, and professional development
  • Evidence-Based Practice Advocacy: Role-model clinical excellence and serve as a resource for complex patient scenarios, ensuring that all educational materials and clinical interventions reflect the most current, evidence-based nursing standards.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors of Nursing Degree
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • 3 to 5 years of clinical experience within Critical Care and/or Emergency Services
  • Certified as a Basic Life Support Instructor - American Heart Association
  • Able to deal effectively with patient care partners, patients, family members and physicians.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written/oral communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate effectiveness in applicable computer skills โ€“ i.e Google Suite/Microsoft Office
  • Must sit for professional certification within one year of entering the position (within 12 months from date of hire)
