Managing Director, Project Management Services
About you
We're looking for a Managing Director, Project Management Services, who is an experienced Entrepreneurial Business Manager. Proficient in establishing a business plan for strategic growth of the Development Services platform and in the various sectors of operational focus. You are a creative thinker, versatile development and construction professional with experience in the management of multidisciplinary teams required to execute the land acquisition, development and construction process for a multitude of commercial product types.
You will serve as team leader and Project Management Director and will align his business plan with the SFL leader to grow the owner rep and project management business. You will be responsible for co-ordination and development of sales opportunities, marketing plans and the delegation of ground up, tenant improvement and third-party workload amongst the team.
Other significant duties include being available to the open market to evaluate and produce viable Preliminary Program Studies & Development Due Diligence Studies for ground up and acquisition assignment. Represent experience in co-ordination of the stakeholders to develop a hard and soft cost, budget and schedule. The expectation is to be available to the Clients/Brokerage and Development teams internally to assist in the evaluation, pitching and proposal generation of services for the execution of real estate projects. Scopes range in variation and include office, healthcare, hospitality retail and mixed use projects.
In this role, you will...
  • Manages all phases of project management including design, construction, occupancy, quality control, staffing, and budget management.
  • They Interface with clients to define project requirements.
  • Establishes project work plan and deadlines.
  • Creates persuasive presentations that meet the project's objectives.
  • Tracks progress of projects against goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets, and generates reports on status. Monitors expenses to ensure they fall within the prescribed budget.
  • Manages all facets of project design, construction, and occupancy.
  • Manages project team by providing direction and leadership.
  • Facilitate client meetings regarding project matters.
  • Works closely with other functional areas of the organization, project contractors, internal team members, external collaborators, customers and suppliers.
  • Manages a work unit and/or group. Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating direct reports. Responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What you'll bring...
  • Background in at least one of the following areas: Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, Cost Estimating or Engineering with at least 10-15 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college
  • The ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
  • Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.
  • Effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on general topics to an internal department, large group of employees, clients, and/or management.
  • Motivate employees and client groups to take desired action.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Able to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Proficiency in MS Project is helpful. Knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices preferred.

Certain senior-level roles are eligible for unlimited time off. Employees will also enjoy 10 paid holidays plus two personal flex days throughout the calendar year. Twelve weeks (for birth parents) and 4 weeks (for non-birth parents, including adoptive/foster parents) of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of 90 days of employment. Individuals may be eligible for different or additional benefits under applicable state law.
Bonus
This position is eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $166,233.00 to $180,000
Area/Location Specific: Chicago, Illinois
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
