Job description

Professional Landscape Architect work requiring knowledge and understanding of park planning, recreational facility standards, environmental permitting, and the ability to collaborate with Architects, Engineers, Land Managers, and other professional-level staff. Assignments are received from a superior, but the employee is expected to exercise independent judgment in the application of professional knowledge and skills in the completion of work assignments. Examples of work include the design and graphic production of master plans, site plans, landscape plans, irrigation plans, drainage plans, and construction details and specifications. Prepares graphic renderings for park development projects in Photoshop, creates and updates AutoCAD master plans and site plans, gathers field data and site condition information, monitors park construction projects, and prepares displays for public presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
โ€ข A Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture; minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscape architecture or specifically park planning and design,
OR
โ€ข An unrelated Bachelor's Degree or related Associate's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscape architecture or specifically park planning and design,
OR
โ€ข Graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of experience in landscape architecture or specifically park planning and design.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include (must specify in application):
โ€ข Experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint,
โ€ข Experience with AutoCAD, Land-FX, and Photoshop, reading plans, creating construction plans, and developing preliminary cost estimates,
โ€ข Licensed by the Florida Board of Landscape Architects as a Professional Landscape Architect, and
โ€ข Knowledge of landscape architecture principles and practices, including site planning, landscape, grading, and irrigation design, as well as construction details and an understanding of South
