Position Title: Security Project, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $21.00 (Graduate)
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The MTA Headquarters Office of Security provides oversight and guidance for security operations across the MTA. Ensuring the safety of our system, customers, and employees remains our top priority. In addition to our core security responsibilities, we offer strategic direction and oversight to the security departments within each operating agency. The Division of Security Operations focuses on the continued investment in and expansion of MTA security systems, including the integration of emerging technologies.
The Security Operations Division fulfils many roles, including planning, managing security projects to support MTA HQ, but also by providing oversight of security projects across the operating agencies. Projects may involve anything from cameras, access control, enterprise software platform deployments, WMD detection, drone detection, intrusion detection, operational monitoring and much more. The Security Project Intern will support these diverse initiatives by assisting with project tracking, development, and reporting. The intern will assist with the creation of presentations, support materials, reports, imagery, the gathering and organizing of project requirements or data and other related necessary tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review data and provide analysis in Counter UAS Program.
  • Compile regular update and track key performance matrix.
  • Assist with evaluating new technology.
  • Update progress of security capital projects.
  • Support the development of presentations, reports.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing project requirements, data, and other related tasks.
  • Assist team member in project management.
  • Assist the team on the ongoing research or emerging technology.

PROJECTS:
  • Support diverse initiatives by assisting with project tracking of capital projects, development, and reporting.
  • Review Risk Assessment and best practices.
  • Develop flowcharts on mitigation efforts.
  • Support the data analysis of the Drone Program.
  • Develop Dashboard of Badges.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer science, Information technology, Data Science, Intelligence, Homeland Security, Security Management, or related field.
