DEPARTMENT: Operations Team

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting project delivery by managing documentation, coordinating communication, and assisting with day-to-day project operations. Working alongside project managers and field staff, this position helps maintain organization, accuracy, and momentum throughout the project lifecycle.

PROJECT ENGINEER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Construction:

  • Assist in soliciting subcontractors, the permitting paperwork, setting up of the job site logistics, and the assembly of subcontractor scopes of work

Project & System Management:

  • Manage commitments in Project Management Software to include Prime Contracts, Subcontractor/Vendor Contracts, Purchase Orders, Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders
  • Track all documentation for compliance with in Procore to show final approval and execution to include Prime Contracts, Subcontracts, Certificates of Insurance, W9's, Purchase Orders, Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders
  • Receive, review, submit and track subcontractor/vendor submittals, shop drawings and Requests for Information
  • Establish and maintain within Procore project logs to include Procurement log, RFI log, Submittal log, Safety log, etc.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute meeting agendas and minutes and attend onsite meetings that may require meeting minutes
  • Responsible for compiling project Close-Out package to include Warranty letters, O&M's, As-Builts, etc.
  • Assist in the assembly and review of Pay Applications, as required
  • Assist in obtaining required Certificate of Occupancy and any other applicable approvals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA in Architecture, Construction Management or related field or minimum of 2 years of experience working in a commercial construction environment
  • Knowledge of basic building design and construction systems
  • Ability to read construction documents and specification manuals
  • Ability to compile and analyze data
  • Strong organizational and writing/speaking skills

PREFERRED:

  • Experience supporting projects ranging from $50K โ€“ $10M (+) contracts in the commercial, restaurant, retail, healthcare and/or industrial construction environments
  • Knowledge of construction estimating and procurement processes
  • Willingness to grow into a leader and member of a dedicated team
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology
  • Desired Computer Applications Experience: Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Procore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project
