This role is ideal for individuals passionate about infrastructure development and eager to gain hands-on experience in managing large-scale projects such as highways, bridges, utilities, and site development.**Key Responsibilities*** Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to support project schedules and budgets* Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong emphasis on safety* Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed* Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors* Monitor project progress and prepare accurate daily reports, quantities, and documentation* Perform quality control inspections to ensure work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications* Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals* Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE on the job site* Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and coordination with project stakeholders* Assist with communication between the field, project management, owners, and inspectors**Qualifications*** Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline* Minimum of three (2) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction* Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects* Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices* High attention to detail with strong organizational skills* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities* Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules**Working Conditions*** This project is located in Reno, NV.* Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.* Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.* Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.* Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required.* Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location.* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.Ames Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
