Description
Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead project delivery and maintain client relationships across a range of civil infrastructure work. The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgment with the interpersonal skills to serve as a trusted partner to clients and a mentor to project staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects from concept through closeout, ensuring technical quality, budget control, and schedule adherence throughout.
  • Oversee preparation of engineering studies, designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects, provide proactive communication and consistently delivering responsive, high-quality service.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by understanding client needs, addressing concerns promptly, and positioning Waggoner as a long-term partner.
  • Utilize Waggoner's project management systems-including Deltek-to manage project records, monitor financials, process invoicing, and execute closeout.
  • Conduct site visits and support construction-phase services, including review of submittals, RFIs, and resolution of field issues.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff; provide performance feedback to Discipline Managers.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Managers and office leadership to coordinate resources, share expertise, and support proposal development.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field required; Master's degree preferred
  • 10-15 years of related experience, including five or more years in project management and five or more years of direct client interaction.
  • Five or more years of supervisory or coordination experience; knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mississippi required.
  • Must complete Waggoner's PM qualification and certification within one year of employment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microstation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, and other applications
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage client relationships effectively.
