HVAC amp; Hydronic Systems

Hixson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer with advanced expertise in HVAC and hydronic heating/cooling systems for large-scale industrial and commercial facility projects. Join a collaborative, integrated team of architects, engineers, and project managers delivering innovative solutions on projects up to $500 million for nationally recognized clients.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will:
โ€ขLead mechanical engineering design for critical process air handling systems (GMP), laboratory air handling systems, ductwork, and hydronic systems (chillers, steam boilers, hot water boilers, cooling towers).
โ€ขCollaborate across disciplines to deliver coordinated, high-quality solutions.
โ€ขPrepare and review construction documents, specifications, and budget estimates.
โ€ขProvide technical mentorship to junior engineers and guide best practices.
โ€ขInterface directly with clients and internal project teams.
โ€ขEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
โ€ขParticipate in the design and integration of mechanical utilities and plumbing systems.
Qualifications
โ€ขBSME, BSMET, BSAE or related degree required
โ€ขProfessional Engineer (PE) license required
โ€ข10+ years of hands-on design experience in HVAC systems, process cooling/heating, and mechanical utilities
โ€ขProven experience in boiler and chiller central plant design
โ€ขStrong understanding of HVAC controls systems and integration
