RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Working with Project Engineers, overall responsibility of the tooling, Engineering, and Project Management activities of the Company
  • Day to Day management of Project Engineers that lead the design, mold build, and qualification activities from first article to customer acceptance to approved production. 
  • Overall project management tracking for new domestic and offshore mold builds, assuring accountability to costs and profit through tool approval. 
  • Working with the Toolroom Manager, overall management responsibility for toolroom operations including performance to standards and profitability. 
  • Integral part of RFQ Team to evaluate new opportunities, generate tooling quotations, and identify engineering design and moldability issues with potential new work                  
  • Able to perform and assist in Tool design reviews.
  • Able to run CAD software, preferably Solidworks. 
  • Able to perform and analyze Mold Flows. 
  • Familiarity with the many types of injection molding resins.
  • Recommend resins to customers suitable for their application. 
  • Work with customers on new project opportunities and legacy parts.
  • Create DFM's and analyze those provided by Tooling vendors and internal. 
  • Working with Production and Process Engineering, facilitate process improvements to reduce cycle times, improve tools, improve quality and reduce production cost of existing and new parts
  • Responsible for providing leadership in achieving state-of- the -art technical capabilities in Injection Molding and Tooling.  
  • Responsible to drive continuous improvement efforts and be a leader of existing and new lean teams and promote this through the Engineering and Tooling departments. 
  • Must be able to multi-task and work successfully in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

             Education

  • BA or BS with a concentration in Engineering or Management, or equivalent experience

             Experience

  • Ideally 10+ years in plastic injection molding and tooling or manufacturing environments 

             Skills

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers
