Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team in our Martinsburg, West Virginia office. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead complex site development projects, mentor junior staff, and take on increasing responsibility in client engagement and project leadership.

This is a unique opportunity to take on a high level of autonomy within a growing office, where you'll help lead civil engineering projects, mentor staff, and contribute to the continued expansion of our presence in the Eastern Panhandle. You'll have the ability to influence how work is delivered locally while being supported by the resources of a larger, established organization.

Responsibilities:

    Developing proposals and project budgets, managing the engineering staff, and performing quality control
  • Working with clients, contractors, and local/state government officials on all aspects of the project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction
  • Participating in internal and external client and professional development-based organizations
  • Partnering with our management teams to mentor and assist in the professional development of the staff; including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals. Concurrently, our senior management teams will work with you to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities related to your project management, leadership, and business development skills

At CEC, you'll have the opportunity to take on a meaningful leadership role within a growing office, with the ability to influence project delivery and contribute to the expansion of our engineering services in the region. Our Martinsburg office, established in 2022, continues to grow as part of our West Virginia operations alongside Bridgeport and Charleston. You'll work on a diverse mix of projects across the Eastern Panhandle while being supported by the resources, expertise, and multidisciplinary teams of a well-established firm.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Civil Engineering experience
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (or related field) required (ABET accredited)
  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in West Virginia or ability to gain reciprocity
  • Experience managing and leading project teams
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with active and future clients
  • Experience in scope of service and budget (proposal) development, and demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
