Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a driven Aviation Project Engineer to join our team in Birmingham, AL or Dothan, AL. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of aviation infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity and support the growth of the communities we serve.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers and industry professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of airport and airfield projects. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of key project components, strengthen your technical expertise, and play a meaningful role in delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions. Responsibilities

  • Engineering design for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projects
  • Design and construction oversight for commercial and general aviation clients
  • Collaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems
  • Coordination with clients and funding agencies
  • Potential for supervisory responsibilities of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
  • Prepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects
  • Oversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision
  • Builds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships
