About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Estimator in Minneapolis, MN to support longrange planning activities for nuclear projects within a major utility. You will help shape project concepts, refine early-stage cost estimates, and support governance approval by translating loosely defined ideas into structured, defensible estimates. Working with project initiators, asset owners, and the Project Controls team, you will analyze backlogs, reference historical data, and build reliable estimates that guide budget planning and funding authorization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project backlogs in Oracle Unifier, spreadsheets, and other planning tools.
  • Collaborate with project initiators, asset owners, and team members to shape project scope.
  • Reference historical project data and cost models to develop preliminary and refined estimates.
  • Support longrange planning by building estimates used for budgeting and funding authorization.
  • Translate loosely defined project concepts into structured estimates for governance review.
  • Maintain accurate estimate documentation and follow evolving standardization practices.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support changemanagement efforts across the estimating function.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in project estimating, project controls, construction estimating, or related fields-preferably in nuclear or utility environments.
  • Experience in project finance, operations, and work order planning.
  • Proficient in Oracle Unifier or similar project management/estimating tools.
  • Interpret technical information, shape ambiguous project concepts, and build accurate estimates.
  • No formal degree required; commensurate experience is acceptable.
  • PMP or nuclearspecific certifications (not required).
  • 1+ years of experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, or Power BI (not required).
