Job description

For the Center of Regenerative Biotherapeutics, the Senior Engineer designs and develops components of biomedical-related engineering systems, applying knowledge of complex principles, theories, concepts, tools and techniques to the design challenges -- Essentially we engineer solutions to manufacturing problems in cutting edge science but also problem solve a plethora of issues. Our Senior Engineer: 

  • Serves as a Technical Lead for projects
  • Provides technical and work direction to project team members and completes technical work as needed
  • Mentors and coaches other staff as required
  • May lead in evaluating new technologies and capital equipment
  • Understands and complies with relevant portions of Quality Management System
  • Has unit-specific expertise in safety risk management and continues to work to develop expertise in regulatory requirements applicable to his/her unit

Necessary skills: Self-starter who functions effectively in a multi-disciplinary development environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with team members, physicians and health care providers. Possesses effective oral communication and presentation skills. Develops engineering and technical documentation.

BS in Engineering or a related field (Biomedical Engineering preferred) and 5 years of professional engineering experience; Or MS in Engineering or related field and 3 year of professional engineering experience; Or, PhD in Engineering or related field and 1 year of professional engineering experience. 

Masters or PhD preferred, as well as early-to-mid career level candidates.
