Job description

GLY is seeking a skilled and collaborative Senior Project Engineer (SPE) to join our team! This position plays a critical role in guiding project teams, design partners and subcontractors throughout the entire construction lifecycle. Leveraging deep technical expertise, the SPE manages complex scopes, drives constructability reviews and resolves challenges to deliver clear, actionable plans for seamless field execution. This role is also responsible for coordinating schedules and ensuring timely trade integration, while mentoring Project Engineers and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

What You Get to Do:


  • Develop and maintain great working relationships with field supervisors, clients, subcontractors, consultants and other team members.
  • Is a team leader and self-starter with the ability to navigate different situations that arise on a project.Lead, manage and mentor other Project Engineers.
  • Works directly with our Field leaders to adhere to our construction schedule and ensure timely installation and trade coordination.
  • Contains the technical engineering skill to manage any division of the construction process.
  • Fully engaged in GLY workflows and process, ensures the PE team is following and delivering a consistent product to our design team, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Support design teams in pre-construction to ensure completed designs meet project budget and schedule requirements.
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting all preconstruction activities; support estimating and assist with quantity take-offs.
  • Understand and anticipate schedule requirements and materials procurement and delivery. Organize or oversee the procurement schedule is fully coordinated with the project schedule.
  • Understands and develops contracts, subcontracts and tracking systems for budgets; write contracts, change orders and purchase orders.
  • Develop and leverage strengths in VDC and BIM.
  • Develop detailed drawings work packages with the VDC; ensure work is correctly laid out, and that all work is performed in proper sequence.
  • Review reports, such as job cost, A/P projections, labor costs and monthly job costs.
  • Assemble or supervise closeout information, as-builts, warranties, etc.

What It Takes:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-6+ years project engineering experience with a general contractor that self-performs work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Sharepoint, CMic, PlanGrid, SmartSheet; REVIT and NavisWorks , ACC, OnScreen Take-Off knowledge a plus.
  • Other specialized experience or accreditations preferred, e.g. MEP, DBIA, or LEED Green Associate.
  • Excellent written, verbal and other interpersonal communication skills - communication is a large part of what we do!
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others - we like to have fun.
  • Adaptable - you work well under pressure and adapt quickly to different situations and work environments.
