Job description

Job Title: Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager

Reports To: Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager

Location: Houston, Texas

Summary

The Project Engineer II supports the planning, coordination, and execution of midstream oil & gas projects, including pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, meter stations, and associated facilities. This role requires greater technical and project execution responsibility than Project Engineer I, with more autonomy in handling work assignments while still receiving guidance from senior project engineers or project managers. This role ensures that engineering deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating engineering deliverables and schedules across multiple disciplines
  • Prepare, review, and revise project documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare material requisitions and perform vendor technical reviews
  • Participate in design review meetings and assist in resolving technical issues
  • Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup
  • Review and coordinate responses to RFIs
  • Support senior project engineers and project managers in monitoring the project schedule and budget
  • Ensure work meets quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to travel as required
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline
  • 4โ€“6 years of engineering experience, preferably in the oil & gas midstream sector (internship or co-op experience acceptable)
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, DOT/PHMSA)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic project scheduling tools
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools
  • EIT certification preferred with progress towards acquiring P.E.
  • Team player โ€“ able to communicate and relate well with others
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to move around the office for daily tasks and meetings, and job site visits (when required).
