Job description

Position Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to start your career path in project management? If so, Southland Industries’ Project Engineer position is for you! In this role, you will work on exciting, multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects as you develop your skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design-build construction process.

Position Details

  • Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
  • Manages change orders.  Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
  • Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
  • Stays current on emerging trends.
  • Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings
  • Basic verbal and written communications skills
  • Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel
  • Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
