About the Role

An established electrical construction firm is seeking a Project Engineer to support field leadership and project management in planning, coordinating, and executing electrical installations. This role serves as a technical resource for the field, with a focus on documentation accuracy, cross-trade coordination, and keeping installation teams ahead of schedule.

This is an on-site position and is temporary to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to identify missing, unclear, or conflicting information; coordinate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
  • Produce shop drawings, installation details, and marked-up plans that give field teams clear, actionable guidance
  • Review submittals and RFIs across all trades to assess impacts on electrical scope; communicate relevant changes to project managers and field leaders
  • Ensure foremen and field supervisors have current drawings, schedules, and coordination details to support efficient execution and minimize rework
  • Monitor design and coordination updates from mechanical, structural, architectural, and other trades to protect electrical scope and sequencing
  • Maintain a proactive approach to identifying risks before they affect operations and support ongoing improvement in installation quality

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical construction, project engineering, or a similar role in a contracting environment
  • Solid understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems and construction processes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction document management platforms (Bluebeam, Procore, or similar)
  • Experience with construction design software
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering field; Building Science; Construction Management; or Architecture
  • Completion of an Electrical or Mechanical Trade Apprenticeship Program
