SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Business Development Manager I that will be responsible for partnering with business unit market leaders in developing and supporting positioning strategies with existing and potential customers to win project work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage positioning activities of the business development team, including strategic planning, creating communications and marketing materials, coordinating prequalification efforts, and initiating customer feedback
  • Act as the liaison between business development, pre-construction, and marketing; provide market sector insights and perform market trends analysis
  • Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships, developing and maintaining relationships with partners, and identifying new market opportunities
  • Convert potential future customers to contacts for market sector leaders and become familiar with customer project estimates to facilitate discussions
  • Complete Request for Proposals with 100% accuracy and compliance with owner's specifications
  • Play an integral role with the development team, taking work direction, utilizing training, and completing performance reviews
  • Lead team members by example, offering effective coaching and feedback, and managing performance
  • Build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum five years of industry-related business development experience
  • Current driver's license
  • Proven customer relationship building skills with local/regional business knowledge and relationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge and execution of successful marketing strategies
  • Detail-oriented for data entry, reporting, financial projections, and market analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management, and CRM web applications
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this role is $102,900 MIN - $154,400 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
