Job description

Position Summary
The Remediation Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing complex remedial investigation and corrective action projects across AllenES's southeastern and eastern U.S. regions. This role operates within a seller/doer model, requiring both technical leadership and active participation in business development.
The ideal candidate will bring 10-15 years of environmental consulting experience, with expertise in developing dynamic work plans, advanced field investigation strategies, risk assessment, modeling, and high-resolution data evaluation and visualization to support remedial planning, design, and implementation.
This position serves as a project leader, client interface, and technical subject matter expert, responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables while supporting company growth through client relationship development and proposal efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Leadership
  • Serve as Project Manager for remedial investigation and corrective action projects
  • Lead project teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of complex environmental projects
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior staff and project team members

Technical Strategy & Remediation Leadership
  • Lead development of remedial investigation strategies, corrective action plans, and long-term monitoring programs
  • Design and oversee complex subsurface investigations and high-resolution site characterization efforts
  • Apply risk assessment methodologies to support decision-making and remedial design
  • Interpret and evaluate environmental data, including modeling and visualization outputs
  • Ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance of all project deliverables

Business Development (Seller/Doer Model)
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective client accounts
  • Lead or support proposal development, including scope, budget, and technical approach
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth initiatives across regional markets

Project Delivery & Technical Documentation
  • Oversee preparation of technical reports, work plans, and regulatory submittals
  • Ensure deliverables meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards
  • Review and approve project documentation, data interpretation, and findings
  • Support internal coordination and communication across multidisciplinary teams

Compliance, Regulatory & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Interface with regulatory agencies during project planning, execution, and reporting phases
  • Maintain adherence to company health, safety, and quality procedures
  • Support audits, reviews, and inspections as required

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related scientific field
  • 10-15 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on remediation projects
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license, or ability to obtain licensure
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex environmental projects from planning through execution
  • Proven ability to develop technical work plans, interpret data, and lead project teams
  • Strong client-facing communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience supporting or leading business development efforts
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
