We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with proven experience managing industrial mechanical projects including millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. The work location for this position will be based on assignment to a project location.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, management, and storage of all project documentation
  • Actively participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure important job information is gathered before proceeding into construction phase
  • Assist the PM in preparing the construction budget
  • Assist in developing and managing the construction schedule
  • Develop and write subcontracts and purchase orders as requested
  • Contractually and collaboratively manage subcontractors and their related performance
  • Collect, organize, and distribute materials and equipment submittals as required
  • Create and distribute RFI's for clarification of project specifics
  • Work with PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Collaboratively help price, negotiate, and formalize all changes in project scope
  • Work closely with Superintendents on their requests for resources, materials, equipment, etc.
  • Manage safety, quality, and productivity of the project
  • Ensure jobsite remains clean and orderly

Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience in project management or BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field
  • PMP, CCM, or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset
  • OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR Training
  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
  • Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time with a strong understanding of priorities in each phase of construction
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
  • Ability to work collaboratively and plan ahead
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards
  • Understanding of construction management processes
  • Familiarity with construction and project management software programs
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
