MLJ Contracting is seeking a Project Manager to support the Rehabilitation of the Northbound Gold Star Bridge in New London, Connecticut. This high-profile infrastructure project involves complex steel reinforcement and repairs, deck replacement, and additional structural improvements to one of the region's most critical transportation corridors.

The Project Manager leads the planning and development of all project deliverables and is responsible for managing the budget, work plan, and all project management procedures. The Project Manager works to deliver the project on time, in accordance with the contract plans, specifications, and under budget.

II. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or other related field (or equivalent years' experience).

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise Assistant Project Managers and other members of the project team
  • Primary point of contact to the client agency
  • Ensure that jobsite meets all OSHA standards including cleanliness.
  • Ensure that everyone on the site is following all safety protocols.
  • Develop, maintain and update construction CPM schedules including cost-loading and resource-loading as required.
  • Work with the scheduler to prepare schedule updates and monthly narratives
  • Review monthly schedule reports and narratives prepared by the scheduler for submission to the owner.
  • Create and update two week look ahead schedules.
  • Lead team in the preparation of construction plans, safety procedures, quality work plans, etc.
  • Prepare, review, update and report on construction cost reports and labor productivity reports.
  • Prepare, review, submit and track Requests for Information, Change Orders, correspondence and other transmittals using project management software programs.
  • Control all material deliveries, Production schedule, and long lead-time items.
  • Review and approve material and subcontractor invoices.
  • Prepare and update project construction schedule
  • Efficiently maintain all records and files in Field Office
  • Supervise the work of superintendents, project engineers and field engineers and ensure coordination.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION

  • A minimum of 10 years of related construction project management experience.
  • Heavy Civil Bridge/Site experience preferred
  • CTDOT and other public agency experience highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and management skills are required
  • Reading and understanding plans and drawings is a must.
  • Highly proficient in standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe).
  • Highly proficient in construction orientated project management software programs
  • Strong skills in financial management of projects
  • Knowledge of scheduling software, Primavera P6 scheduling program is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation programs is a plus.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Ability to meet critical project milestones.
  • Willingness to coordinate and work in a team environment.
Salary Range:
$160,000—$220,000 USD
