About the Opportunity 

Digital Marketing & Client Development Intern

David Zwirner seeks a highly motivated Digital Marketing & Client Development Intern at its New York gallery. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to become part of an innovative team working across global locations. The intern will work closely with the Client Development Assistants and Digital Marketing team to support in: entering information into the database, ensuring continuous inbox coverage, and assisting the Sales Team with research projects. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the arts, strong organizational and communication skills, and enthusiasm for the evolving intersection of art, client relations, and digital strategy.

Qualified candidates should be highly personable, organized, motivated, and responsible, with an interest in gaining experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery.

What you'll do: 

  • Assist the Client Development team in entering information into the database, extracting information from the database, updating existing records with the most accurate information, and creating new records.
  • Conduct research through print & digital publications and social media outlets, and collaborate on data & reporting, to help support the Sales Team.
  • Utilize various technological platforms to help process inbound messages to the gallery.
  • Help liaise with the global team of gallery assistants to ensure continuous inbox coverage and best practices.
  • Join weekly meetings and engage with a broad range of Marketing, Client Development, Digital, and Sales team members.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and department needs as assigned.

What we would like you to have:

  • Must be comfortable and capable of working with large amounts of data
  • The ability to multitask, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • The ability to exercise diligence and discretion, be extremely organized, and possess a strong sense of time management.
  • A genuine interest in contemporary art and David Zwirner's program; one previous art industry internship preferred.

The internship runs from September 1st - November 25th, 2026 with the possibility of a part-time extension. This position is 4 days a week, Monday through Friday, 10AM - 6PM (days of week to be determined), and the occasional need for remote weekend work. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of approximately 3 months. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. Absolutely no calls or walk-ins please.
