Job Description
Vanir is seeking a Project Director with proven leadership quality and strong communication skill who can build on our continued success in the healthcare sector. To date, Vanir has delivered more than 170 individual healthcare projects valued at over $4.3 billion, including medical clinics, veteran's homes, children's hospitals, and licensed acute care and mental health facilities. We manage the construction of new facilities, renovation projects, seismic upgrades and building additions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The primary duties of a successful Project Director will focus on providing the planning, coordination, and direction for a healthcare program. Duties include ensuring the program and individual projects are on budget and schedule, and the design fits the client's requirements. This position will support design and construction and will be responsible for client interface, scope, schedule, and budget tasks as senior leadership in the field. This position will report to the Area Manager.
  • Employee development, including coaching, mentoring, supervisory and training techniques
  • Supervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanir procedures, client goals, and contract responsibilities on areas of safety, performance, and project staff
  • Develop an implementation plan and master schedule that reflects the priorities of the client
  • Responsible for timely completion of all deliverables required by the client
  • Financial reporting to the client
  • Develop and review contract documents
  • Report and collaborate with client's senior management team on all project matters
  • Develop and implement a program quality management system
  • Document and report all program/project data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage program controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client
  • Track all program and project level status and provide management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related contract requirements
  • Create and present program and project data clearly to multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
  • Develop recommended actions and assist in resolving disputes relative to design and construction
  • Provide management of program logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure program and project success
  • Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is required
  • Ideal candidates will possess 15+ years of experience providing project / program management services on healthcare projects
  • OSHPD experience
  • Experience in managing the full construction of healthcare construction project life-cycle: including pre-construction, design phases, and oversight of constructability reviews is required
  • Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings are required
  • Experience in application of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is preferred

Certificates or Licenses
  • CMAA - Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is preferred
  • DBIA - Design Build Associate, or Professional certification is preferred
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
