Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Maintenance Cost Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in Baton Rouge, LA and be placed at a jobsite in Baton Rouge or the surrounding area. This position supports the maintenance, capital project, and/or the turnaround team with a focus on quantitative analysis of cost and schedule to provide management with the data necessary to make sound business decisions. The Cost Specialist also ensures the project's budget objectives are achieved. The candidate may be asked to work Maintenance, Turnarounds, Small Capital Projects, or a combination of the three.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of cost control and analyst experience in any combination of industrial maintenance, capital projects, and/or outages and turnarounds
  • Four (4) years of jobsite cost specialist experience or BS degree in one of the following: Business Administration, Construction Management, Accounting, or related curriculum
  • Must have a strong background in both cost control and cost analyst
  • Working knowledge of basic to moderately complex cost accounting and cost engineering. Excellent Mathematical skills with attention to accuracy and details are mandatory.
  • Creative thinking skills are required for identifying issues before a potential problem is created. Perform analytical tasks related to the workflow process and identify how the process will impact expected results.
  • Mandatory working knowledge of multiple JD Edwards Enterprise1 system modules (i.e., Timekeeping, Job Cost, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable)
  • Preferred working knowledge of various Client systems (i.e., SAP, E-Payables, TRACK, etc.)
  • Mandatory understanding of basic Cost Accounting terminology, methodology, and forecasting techniques
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, leadership, motivational and communication skills while maintaining a professional appearance
  • Creative thinking skills are required for identifying issues before a potential problem is created. Perform analytical task related to workflow process and identify how process will impact expected results
  • Willingness to professionally represent the company while meeting with Client and Management
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Working independently as well as in a team-oriented environment within the organization
  • Ability to read and write proficiently in the English Language

Functional Requirements:

Effectively manage and control cost, general accounting, cost accounting, conduct audits and create and submit cost reports; work closely with the project management team, understand, and inform them about the impact and cost diversity or variances of the project
