Job Description:

This role handles highly confidential financial and operational information and is expected to exercise a high level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and independent judgment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Revenue Recognition – Percentage of Completion (POC)

  • Manage revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP using the percentage-of-completion method.
  • Maintain and review WIP schedules, including costs incurred, estimated costs to complete, and earned revenue.
  • Partner with Project Managers to validate project progress, forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates.
  • Identify revenue recognition risks, project overruns, and forecast variances; communicate findings to leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits related to project accounting and revenue recognition.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide project cost, inventory, and financial data to managers and departments to support operational decisions.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues related to project costs, inventory, or internal controls.
  • Oversee training and documentation related to project cost accounting and inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Project Management, and Leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or higher).
  • Minimum 4+ years of project or cost accounting experience in a construction, manufacturing, or project-based environment.
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 100 Inventory Management Software.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, project accounting, WIP reporting, and inventory valuation.
  • Advanced analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Preferred

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience supporting audits and interacting with external auditors.
  • Construction, fabrication, or engineering services industry experience.

Further Qualifications - The successful candidate must also pass a background check.
