Job Summary

Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to work on a project site in Raleigh, NC. The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for many key factors in guiding large-scale construction projects to success. The Project Controls Manager will need to track and manage schedule, budget, productivity, labor, and financial forecasts for large construction projects. The Project Controls Manager will need to track the progress of the work being performed to identify work scopes needing closer management to remain on schedule and within budget through calculating and analyzing productivity metrics. The Project Controls Manager will need to assemble project data to present/report to both internal and external management on regular schedules. The Project Controls Manager will work directly with the Project Manager and be able to provide them with many key data metrics to help ensure informed decision making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Continually re-assess the planned labor based off evolving schedules driven by customers.
  • Analyze the financial impacts of changes in planned manpower on all individual scopes to ensure completion within budget.
  • Track and analyze project controls data and update proprietary workbooks. Data/tracking includes labor hours, installed quantities, activity durations, and financial reporting/forecasting.
  • Assist accounting in ensuring invoices sent to customers are timely and accurate.
  • Work with field supervision weekly to determine the installed quantities and analyze productivity metrics.
  • Submit and track change requests with customers and follow them through the approval process.
Qualifications
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to foresee possible problems and preemptively address them without requiring direction from supervision.
  • Ability to self-prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to “self-learn” and independently research tasks that are unfamiliar to figure out and implement solutions.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work overtime when the job requires it.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent data analysis skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft suite programs such as Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong understanding of the financial workings of both T&M and Lump Sum projects.
  • Experience with Primavera or MS Project is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in VBA is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

Conditions include working in office, with occasional entry into shop, busy traffic areas, and warehouses. Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property. Must be able to effectively use any required PPE equipment. Potential Jobsite Visits.
