About the Role
Aegis is seeking a Cost Controls person with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) estimating experience to join our project team. This individual will be a member of the onsite cost and change management team and is responsible for reviewing RFI's, owner change directives, and field directives, including providing cradle-to-grave ownership of all cost impacts. This includes everything from preparing rough orders of magnitude (ROM) for owner discussion and contractor change order request tracking, review, and negotiation, to preparing detailed change orders for owner review and processing contractor change orders.
General responsibilities include:
  • Performs accurate, thorough, and timely quantity takeoffs using company format, detail, and coding for some CSI division systems for all levels of project change documents.
  • Provides information to senior estimators and change managers to develop accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions associated with change order initiating events.
  • Solicits and analyzes subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required.
  • Accurately assesses and plans takeoff workload.
  • Understands the change order process and its relationship with site project management teams.
  • Is proficient in all computer software programs used in preconstruction with particular emphasis on estimating software (e.g., MC2, On-Screen Takeoff, Paydirt, Ñ–SqFt, etc.)

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in construction management or engineering, plus 3-10 years' relevant work experience.
  • MEP estimating experience.
  • Ability to use estimating software (like MC2), bid management, online plan rooms, database applications, and the Microsoft Suite
  • Previous experience working on-site with a large project management team.

Preferred skills
  • Commercial pre-construction, estimating, or change management experience.
  • Mission-critical or data center experience.
  • Local qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
