Principal โ€“ Coastal Restoration

Louisiana, California, Nationwide - Regular Full-Time

As the Principal โ€“ Coastal Restoration, you will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise for the Coastal Restoration business. This role is responsible for operational and technical excellence and plays a key role in growth strategy and business development.

About the Role
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for coastal restoration projects throughout True Environmental, providing senior-level direction on project design, planning, and execution.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate coastal restoration expertise across environmental, engineering, and regulatory service lines.
  • Review and approve technical deliverables including reports, plans, and regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare and review expert reports, rebuttal documents, and technical memoranda for litigation and regulatory proceedings.
  • Provide technical leadership on ecological issues.
  • Present findings clearly to legal, regulatory, and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape functional strategy, service offerings, and market positioning
  • Drive strategic business development efforts, including large pursuits, partnerships, and emerging markets.
  • Lead business development effort through leading proposal development, scope development and presentations to clients.
  • Provide technical input to projects within your area(s) of expertise.
  • Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals.
  • Mentor and provide technical training to junior and intermediate team members.
  • Participate in strategic hiring, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture by modeling company values, setting clear expectations, and developing an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as required.
About You
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Coastal Science, Environmental Science, Ecology or a related field.
  • 15+ years of previous experience working in environmental consulting and A/E/C with a focus on coastal restoration.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a technical expert on environmental and coastal restoration projects.
  • A high level of professionalism, integrity, ethics, and commitment to environmental sustainability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
