Project Accountant

Job Description

The Project Accountant manages project accounting activities and ensures accurate financial tracking for multiple projects. This role sets up and maintains projects in the P21 system, oversees invoicing and billable time, and supports effective budget management and customer billing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project accounting needs and ensure accurate financial tracking across assigned projects.
  • Set up new projects in the P21 system and maintain complete and up-to-date project records.
  • Process project invoicing, including preparation, review, and submission of customer invoices.
  • Manage and track billable time and expenses to ensure accurate and timely billing.
  • Enter technicians and engineers into project records and ensure their assignments are correctly reflected in the system.
  • Handle customer appeals related to project billing or financial matters in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with project budget management, including monitoring budget status and identifying variances.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to project accounting and maintain accurate financial data in relevant databases.
  • Conduct reconciliation tasks to ensure financial records align with project activities and system data.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project teams and finance staff, to support accurate project financial reporting.
