Job description

Job Summary Make an impact: The City of Salem Public Works is hiring a civil engineer at one of three levels -Engineering Program Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Manager - depending on your experience and certification. Why now. Recent retirements, a voter approval of a $300 million Community Improvement Bond Measure, and a backlog of projects have created a rare combination: long-term funding, meaningful work, and room to grow.

The Engineering Division's approved Capital Improvement Plan totals $407 million and provides at least 10 years of funded infrastructure to be delivered by our team. Building for the future: This recruitment will establish a six-month eligibility list. Even if you are not selected for the current opening, qualified applicants will be contacted as additional positions become available.

Hybrid schedule: Our team follows a hybrid model - in-office at the Public Works Operations and Engineering Building 3 to 4 days a week, with remote work available the remaining days with manager approval. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
