Job description

Title: Business Analyst - Construction Project Analyst

Pay: $100,000 per year

Type: Hybrid 3x a week onsite Bothell Washington 98011 United States

Duration: 2 year contract to hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Construction Business Analyst with strong analytical, billing, reporting, and project coordination skills to support wireless and wireline communication billing activities. This is a new position responsible for analyzing complex data, identifying billing discrepancies and revenue opportunities, supporting project managers, and driving process improvements.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and strong communicator who can independently move work forward, lead meetings, coordinate tasks across team members, and use data to determine appropriate next steps. Experience with SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) and query-based reporting is highly preferred.

Experience with pole attachment or make-ready billing is not required. Candidates with strong backgrounds in billing, reconciliation, accounts receivable analysis, financial operations, or similar analytical environments are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support wireless and wireline communication billing activities.
  • Prepare and process non-consumption billing, including annual rental fees, application fees, pre-construction prepayments, and pole topping fees.
  • Research, coordinate, and resolve complex billing issues and discrepancies.
  • Analyze billing and financial data to identify money leaks, missed charges, and revenue opportunities.
  • Communicate with clients regarding invoice status and billing for communication-related projects.
  • Partner with Project Managers (PMs) to support project-related billing, analysis, reporting, and deliverables.
  • Navigate complex datasets and analyze information to determine appropriate allocation, billing treatment, and next steps.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting and billing activities.
  • Develop and maintain query reports, SAP BW reports, and other analytical reporting solutions.
  • Utilize data and reporting insights to identify trends, investigate issues, and support business decisions.
  • Lead analytical initiatives and independently drive assigned work and deliverables to completion.
  • Facilitate meetings, establish priorities, delegate or coordinate work across team members, and follow up on action items.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate manual workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement process improvements and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support the broader body of work by keeping projects moving forward with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Experience creating and working with reports, queries, and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative without requiring frequent supervision or follow-up.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Comfortable leading meetings, coordinating activities, assigning/dividing work, and tracking deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Respectful, collaborative communication style with strong listening skills.
  • Ability to translate data findings into actionable next steps.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting utility, telecommunications, wireless, wireline, construction, or infrastructure-related billing.
  • Experience with SAP BW query reporting, BEx queries, or similar reporting tools.
  • Experience identifying billing errors, revenue leakage, or opportunities for process improvement.
  • Experience with process automation and reducing manual operational work.
