Project Accounting Coordinator

A great opportunity for someone with an accounting diploma who wants to build a career in construction project support.

Who We Are

CASMAN is a trusted leader in commercial and residential construction, recognized for technical expertise, strong partnerships, and attention to detail. Our teams work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff to bring projects to life from early planning and bidding through final turnover.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Project Accounting Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, in-office role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an accounting diploma who is interested in learning how construction projects are planned, tracked, budgeted, and delivered. The role blends junior project accounting, project administration, document control, and coordination support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys numbers, organization, teamwork, and a fast-paced project environment.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Assist with project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, cost allocations, and monthly project cost reporting.
  • Monitor project cost transactions and help ensure costs are recorded accurately and allocated to the correct projects.
  • Support variance reporting and provide budget or cost information to project managers and finance/accounting teams.
  • Assist with document control, purchasing coordination, and general project administration.
  • Act as a liaison between project management, finance/accounting, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and site teams.
  • Promote safe work practices, company standards, strong communication, and timely completion of project deliverables.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum two-year post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a four-year degree is considered an asset.
  • Interest in construction, development, project accounting, or project coordination is important; previous construction industry experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Related work experience is preferred, ideally in accounting, administration, project support, construction, development, or a fast-paced office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with budgets, costs, documentation, and deadlines.
  • Highly organized, able to manage time effectively, prioritize competing tasks, and follow through on deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to work with internal teams, consultants, site staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; MS Project and Sage experience are considered assets.
  • Comfort learning construction terminology, reading project documentation, and participating in active construction site meetings.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel to sites across Alberta and British Columbia as required.
Why Build Your Career With CASMAN
  • Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Pension matching plan.
  • Clear opportunities for career advancement.
  • Sponsorship for continued education and professional development.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to construction projects from concept through completion.
