As part of Marmon Rail (a Berkshire Hathaway company), we operate a growing network of facilities and field service teams across North America, supporting customers in transportation, energy, and manufacturing.

We are looking for a Repair Supervisor to lead frontline operations, ensure quality and safety standards, and drive daily execution on the shop floor. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is passionate about leading teams and delivering operational results.

What You'll Do:

This role is responsible for leading repair operations, overseeing hourly employees, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all work activities.

On any given day, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees across repair activities
  • Drive safe work practices and ensure adherence to all safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, AAR, company, and customer requirements
  • Monitor daily production, track work in process, and update job status
  • Participate in daily production meetings and communicate progress updates
  • Partner with Quality and EHS teams to maintain compliance and audit readiness
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of employees
  • Manage materials and equipment in coordination with Materials leadership
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support process enhancements
  • Address employee relations matters, including coaching and corrective actions

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a strong people leader with operational knowledge and a focus on safety, quality, and execution.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in railcar repair, manufacturing, or industrial operations
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of FRA regulations and AAR Interchange Rules
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Experience leading in a regulated environment
  • Background in continuous improvement or Lean practices

Work Environment:

  • Significant time spent on the shop floor in an industrial environment
  • Exposure to equipment, noise, and varying weather conditions
  • Physical activity including walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety standards

  • Compensation: Base Salary: $75,000 - $80,000
