Job description

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Assists the Project Manager with the planning, coordination, administration, and execution of construction projects. Supports project objectives by helping ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements while maintaining effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

Essential Functions amp; Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and administration of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to support estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and assist with bid preparation.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and financial performance, identifying potential issues and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Operations Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely project progress.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of change orders, subcontract agreements, owner invoicing, project documentation, permits, and closeout activities.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify critical path items, long-lead materials, and potential project risks.
  • Support compliance with company safety policies, contract requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Travel to project sites as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, or a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of commercial construction experience in project management, estimating, or construction administration. Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and project documentation. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
