Our organization is regulated by the Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS). Accordingly, all interns/volunteers must comply with DHS regulations and company policies. Our organization welcomes those who would like to intern, volunteer and/or perform community service with us. All applicants must meet prior approval by the Human Resources Department. All requests for interns/volunteers will be considered for approval on a case-by-case basis.

Interns/Volunteers may engage in routine contact with a child or children in the presence of employees, including:

  • Planning, developing and preparing activities
  • Helping program staff
  • Assisting with mealtime activities
  • Implementing cultural activities
  • Field trips
  • Reading/homework help
  • Cleaning as needed

Dr. Day Care has locations across Rhode Island. Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Learn more at www.drdaycare.com

Kids Klub has multiple locations in select school districts. Our programs are open Monday – Friday before school (typically 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) and after school (typically 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), schedules vary per program. Requirements:

HR will communicate with interested intern/volunteer to determine if it is a good fit and to determine appropriate placement.

Interns or Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

  • If under the age of 18, may be placed in a center/program for a maximum of 20 hours over 8 weeks.
  • If over the age of 18, may be placed in a center/program for over 20 hours over 8 weeks upon providing a documented requirement from an educational institution or other program.

  • Orientation
  • If intern/volunteer is 16 or 17 years old, Parent/Guardian consent to intern/volunteer is required
