POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Director (Priority Schools) primarily supports the Associate Superintendent with all non-instructional, school-based support matters. Key responsibilities include analyzing and problem solving related to family concerns, school operations issues, school leadership around other non-instructional issues, and specifically supports low-performing and federally identified (CSI, ATSI and/or TSI) schools and implementing evidence-based turnaround models. On occasion, the Program Director may be called on to address instructional issues outside of direct teaching and learning. Utilizes strong project management and school improvement methodology, tools, and resources to support the Associate Superintendent. Serves as a key point of contact for effective communication and engagement between schools and appropriate resources at the district office.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred

Certifications/Licenses:
  • A valid Georgia Professional Certification at a Level 5 or higher preferred

Experience:
  • 6 years of progressive experience
  • 3 years of supervisory or team leadership role required
  • Experience in K 12 education or public sector preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience leading or supporting turnaround/school improvement initiatives in a K 12 setting preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains knowledge of district and school programming, policies, and operational practices to support effective service delivery
  • Responds to parent and community inquiries directed to the Associate Superintendent's office in a timely, respectful, and solution-oriented manner
  • Communicates updates, decisions, risks, and operational needs clearly and promptly to the Associate Superintendent and school leadership
  • Develops correspondence, reports, presentations, and spreadsheets to support administrative and executive-level decision-making
  • Provides operational support to schools by identifying solutions, addressing non-instructional needs, and improving service delivery
  • Conducts targeted, regular site visits and instructional/operational audits to monitor the implementation of Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP) and turnaround strategies.
  • Analyzes information and data to develop recommendations for leadership consideration and action
  • Communicates effectively in writing and verbally, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and responsiveness across stakeholders
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or their representative

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Demonstrates knowledge of project management principles, school operations, and the school-community ecosystem to support principals and resolve operational issues
  • Communicates effectively in writing and verbally, with strong skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and conflict resolution
  • Analyzes and supports resolution of complex issues involving students, staff, discipline, operations, and administrative functions

  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and district school accountability frameworks (e.g., ESEA, Title I, CSI/TSI designations) and evidence-based turnaround strategies
