Description:

The Director provides overall direction and planning for Program activity designed to further PWNA’s vision of Strong, Self Sufficient American Indian Communities. The position will provide collaborative leadership with PWNA Senior Leadership, management and staff, reservations partners, area service providers, funders, board members and other key stakeholders to deliver effective program materials, supplies and training needed in the communities we serve. Responsible for monitoring the quality of products and services, transportation and inventory of the products provided to communities and partners. This position oversees general operations, warehouse operations and drivers, Long-Term solutions and procurement and relationship building/stewarding of GIK for the Southwest.

Requirements:

Essential Duties

  • Hire and retain staff and oversee the training of all new employees and continued training of all current employees.
  • Coordinate and manage LTS grant activities to ensure planning, programming and reporting is completed.
  • Ensure all compliance and regulatory requirements are met to operate a safe facility, transport goods and delivery of services.
  • Ensure that quarterly expectations for the Southwest are completed and monitored, including board and leadership reporting.
  • Work directly with Senior Leadership and Development to manage and expand PWNA’s relationships with GIK and product donors. Regularly keep GIK and donor groups aware of our needs. Secure GIK that furthers our mission.
  • Reconcile GIK-related general ledger accounts on a quarterly basis - in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Monitor overall program spending. Keep costs down without compromising services.
  • Ensure that PWNA’s warehouse operations are efficient and service oriented.
  • Monitor the expenses and quality of inbound logistics.
  • Visit program sites and distributions on reservations at least annually to stay familiar with the service area and partners, meet with tribal officials, monitor program quality and stay connected with the purpose of our programs.
  • Oversee facility management to ensure a safe, clean, well maintained and inviting work environment.
  • Oversee inventory management and allocation with warehouse management to meet annual audit standards.
  • Manage, supervise, and provide guidance to program information coordinator in combination with PR/Communications to capture stories, content, and fundraising material for PWNA.
  • Foster environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and camaraderie.
  • Forward facing representation of PWNA at conferences, meetings, panels, and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and related work experience equivalent to bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant certifications preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Non-Profit experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
  • Extensive Work experience in Indian country highly preferred.
