Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an Assistant Program Director for a local organization in the Duluth area. This is a leadership-focused position for someone who enjoys supporting both employees and clients while helping programs run smoothly and effectively.
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on program support. A successful candidate will lead by example, communicate effectively, remain calm when challenges arise, and be willing to step in wherever support is needed.
This position is primarily day shift with flexibility based on program needs and requires participation in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
  • Help oversee daily operations across multiple program locations
  • Provide guidance, problem-solving support, and leadership to program staff
  • Assist with employee orientation, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Coordinate client reviews and maintain accurate progress reports, goals, outcomes, and related records
  • Develop and update program documentation and recordkeeping processes
  • Plan and coordinate activities that support client goals, enrichment, health, and overall well-being
  • Monitor budgets for groceries, program supplies, and other operational needs
  • Assist leadership with licensing requirements, policies, compliance, documentation, and reporting
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule

Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education required; a four-year degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
  • Must be able to successfully complete a DHS background study
  • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work compassionately and professionally with clients
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 80 pounds
