Job description

Expected Weekly Schedule:

At this time we are hiring for an evening shift 12 pm - 8 am on Sat & Sun - the candidate person must have reliable transportation.

General Job Duties:
Supervise the activities of 10 -15 youth at any given time, maintaining knowledge of the whereabouts of all youth and their physical security, and monitor for possible contraband. Provide a safe, secure environment through the use of motivational techniques, individual rapport, "positive discipline" techniques, and the use of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.

• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Attend to each youth's general needs (general needs ie: meal, hygiene and laundry), problem solving, providing interventions to ensure youth are helping each other and are recognized for their efforts.
• Planning, managing and evaluating are part of the daily routine for each youth, and that activities or opportunities for individual recognition are created and utilized.
• Document daily shift occurrences and incidents that are directly reported to case management at the end of each shift.
• Assists with the daily activities of disadvantaged youth, who are at high risk for substance abuse, status offences, or delinquency.
• Facilitates the preparation, cooking, and serving of youth center meals.
• Inventory control: Maintain food, hygiene kit, and other youth services supplies
• Facilitates and carries out the weekly washing/folding of youth center towels for shower area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager or Program Director
