Details
Role: Data Engineer (Synapse)
Location: Bellevue, WA
Our team is looking to add strong Data Engineers with good SQL and Azure Analytical skills.
Development activities:
  • Ability to gather and understand requirements by studying features/ user stories created for requirements and work on implementing them.
  • Design and development for the change requests from client.
  • Ability to analyze existing data flow and suggest for any enhancements/ improvements based on technical expertise.
  • Preparing test scenarios/ test cases for the user stories and sharing the unit testing results as part of the development completion.

Operations activities:
  • Monitor data extract, transform, and load (ETL) jobs, pipelines and work to fix the job failures.
  • Troubleshooting to identify data issues and solving any data discrepancies and providing business intelligence insights.
  • Provide support to the users on any data related questions/issues reported during UAT and PROD cycles.

Technical skills:
Expertise/ at least 7+ years of experience in
  • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Database and ETL design concepts
    • T SQL
    • SQL server Analysis server
    • Fluent in DAX queries (good to have)
  • Azure Synapse - including creating scripts for ETL using Python(pyspark)
  • Experience with excel - includes creating data pivots to different sources for analyzing
  • Good to have prior experience with Microsoft projects, process, and tools (like VSTS, VSO)
