Join our Product Development Team as a Product Development Engineer, EIT where you will play a hands-on role in shaping industry-leading waterslide products through creative design solutions and strong technical execution. This position is ideal for a passionate engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing across all stages of the design processfrom concept development through to commissioning. Your work will directly contribute to attractions enjoyed by millions of guests worldwide, with real-world impact on safety, performance, and guest experience.

The product development team is at the forefront of this innovation and at the core of ProSlide's DNA. Reporting to the Product Development Director, your role as the Product Development Engineer, EIT is key to ProSlides success. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on the design, development, installation, and validation of new waterslide product offerings. We are looking for passionate, motivated, and driven individuals to help us design and build the worlds best water rides!

YOUR CHALLENGE:


Product Development & Project Leadership

  • Lead assigned product development projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring compliance with the Product Development Process (PDP) while achieving schedule, budget, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Partner closely with Product Designers throughout the development process to ensure engineering requirements are effectively translated into product designs.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute development schedules and budgets, providing regular status updates, forecasts, and progress reports to the Product Development Director.
  • Coordinate development activities with internal stakeholders, including Product Designers, Project Delivery, Operations, and Project Engineering Coordination teams.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews, technical reviews, and pre-engineering reviews as required.

Product Engineering & Design

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for new and existing products, including plumbing systems, structural and mechanical assemblies, hardware selection, water flow systems, and related equipment.
  • Create, maintain, and manage 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, and configuration-controlled product documentation.
  • Perform engineering analyses and evaluations including; risk assessments, standards reviews, design compliance assessments, computational analysis (CFD/FEA), hand calculations, and technical investigations.
  • Develop detailed engineering requirements and design specifications to guide Product Designers and ensure product performance, safety, manufacturability, and reliability objectives are achieved.
  • Generate and maintain complete technical data packages, including drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation for new and existing products.

Testing, Validation & Compliance

  • Develop test plans, test procedures, and test fixtures to evaluate product performance and compliance.
  • Lead prototype testing, product validation, and research activities at ProSlide's Research and Development Centre.
  • Analyze test results, document findings, and implement design improvements based on testing outcomes.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable industry standards, internal design requirements, and safety objectives throughout the development process.
  • Support product certification, validation, and verification activities as required.

Technical Support & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all product lines, providing technical guidance and support to internal departments, customers, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Support the Ride Verification team by fulfilling the responsibilities of a Ride Verification Lead when assigned.
  • Investigate and develop engineering solutions for unique technical challenges encountered during manufacturing, installation, commissioning, or operation of products in the field.
  • Conduct onsite ride verification and validation activities for new products and waterslide designs.

Documentation & Quality Management

  • Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure all development activities are properly documented.
  • Support ProSlide's quality management processes through the preparation and completion of engineering change notices, temporary deviations, and other controlled documentation.
  • Ensure configuration management and revision control requirements are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Travel

  • Travel internationally as required to support product validation, ride verification, field investigations, and other engineering activities (up to 20%).



WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:


Required

  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant development experience.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work towards challenging, dynamic goals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain current with industry trends and changes.
  • Strong analytical and communications skills both verbal and written needed to interface with internal technical teams and internal customers.

Desired

  • Experience with finite element software (ANSYS, ABAQUS, Nastran). Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), explicit dynamics and composite modelling is an asset.
  • Knowledge of FRP design
