Job description

This opportunity is first shift. Hours are 6am-4pm.

Summary

Coordinates and schedules the maintenance and general upkeep of equipment and facilities for the maintenance leadership and staff located in Blount’s Fall River and Warren locations. This position will also work closely with the corporate engineering team to the rollout, transfer and designate ownership of projects from engineering to the Fall River and Warren manufacturing facilities maintenance teams. Working closely with the Indirect Purchasing Team, the Coordinator will support a centralized purchasing model and inventory control model for Blount’s maintenance and facilities parts and tool needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the Maintenance Administrator

Creates, organizes and coordinates planned preventive maintenance by established procedures and preventive maintenance program (CMMS). Coordinates and schedules maintenance inspections/repairs as required by third party vendors.

Assists in assigning work orders, unscheduled mechanical/electrical emergency repairs and adjustments in a timely and efficient manner while following established procedures and all food safety procedures.

Responsible for documenting all downtime repairs and work time in downtime database or CMMS program.

Will work with maintenance leadership to maintain equipment as required by the preventive Maintenance Program (CMMS) and report out on progress routinely per the electronic data used to organize events and tasks.

Monitoring life expectancy of existing critical equipment will make maintenance recommendations based on facility usage and OEM recommendations.

Assist in maintaining building facilities including wastewater plant, refrigeration systems, steam systems and building environment systems.

Assist in the coordination of the installation of new processes, equipment or infrastructure upgrades that improve current processes.

Coordinates all people safety related activities and requirements brought forth by the company safety policies and programs surrounding the site maintenance team.

Promotes a safe working environment for self as well as coworkers.

Assists in the coordination of training and development of machine operators and maintenance technicians for equipment and process controls operation.

Assists on plant capital projects as needed.

Assist in evaluating manufacturing processes, suggest alternative improvements to equipment that improve and reduce repetitive downtime occurrences.

Education and/or Experience
  • One to two years related inventory/stock room experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical parts knowledge a plus.
  • Basic Computer knowledge, data entry experience.
