Engineering Associate (R&D / Laboratory)
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Associate to join a multifunctional R&D team at a premier scientific research facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering who enjoys the intersection of hardware, data acquisition, and scientific reasoning.
You will play a critical role in characterizing material properties and conducting reliability testing, ensuring that laboratory operations and data collection meet the highest standards of technical rigor.
Core Responsibilities
• Testing & Characterization: Operate and assist in developing benchtop test equipment to measure material properties and conduct long-term reliability assessments.
• Data Management: Proactively collect, compile, and organize data from various tests for analysis by the engineering team.
• Laboratory Stewardship: Maintain a high-functioning lab environment, including sample labeling, waste disposal, and the verification/calibration of sensitive equipment.
• Hardware & Fabrication: Use hand-held power tools for sample preparation and contribute to projects involving hardware modification or custom fabrication.
• Problem Solving: Apply scientific reasoning to solve technical challenges and improve testing processes.
• Collaborative Execution: Work closely with a multifunctional team of scientists and engineers to meet project milestones in a timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Foundation:
• Degree: Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Technical Skill Set:
• Programming & DAQ: Skilled in programming and data acquisition techniques.
