ย Compensation:ย $33-$45 per hour

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer III to join our growing manufacturing team. This senior-level position is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC machining centers to produce precision components for demanding industries. Meeting production goals with accuracy and efficiency. ย The ideal candidate is an initiative-taker with strong programming skills, extensive setup experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues while mentoring less experienced machinists.
We are transitioning to Mastercam from a SolidWorks/CamWorks programming environment. This role will create and develop Mastercam tools and material libraries. ย We wish to explore the capabilities of CloudNC Cam Assist in our programming environment.
We will be supporting, developing, and mentoring less experienced machinists through the Arizona Tooling and Machining Association, Skill Up program.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and machine controls.
  • Be highly organized and detailed with CAM data management and program organization within our current file store structure.
  • Develop, create and maintain Mastercam tool, materials and speeds & feeds libraries.
  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and CAD models into precise CNC programs.
  • Select tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies, ensuring correct tolerances and finishes.
  • Design and manufacture work holding, fixtures and pallet systems; applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce downtime and manufacturing cost.
  • Perform first article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues to maximize efficiency.
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Recommend process improvements that reduce costs and improve throughput.
  • Perform routine maintenance, follow safety procedures, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and quality teams to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Train, coach and mentor junior machinists and setup personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required. ย 
  • Technical or vocational machine education is preferred.
  • 7+ years of precision CNC machining and programming
  • Strong experience with CNC mills and CNC lathes.
  • Strong skills with G-code programming and Mastercam CAM software.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, and Okuma controls.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Experience machining tight tolerance precision components.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Diligence, problem-solving, manual dexterity, safety awareness, and teamwork with a servant leader mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing experience.
  • Multi-axis machining experience (4-axis and 5-axis preferred).
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • SolidWorks CAD software familiarity.
