Direct Mail Programmer/Digital Document Specialist (April 2021)

Type: Exempt, Full Time, 40 Hours per Week (open to Part Time and Contract)

Location: 672 Crescent Street, Brockton MA 02032

Reporting to: General Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

· End-to-end processing and programming of customer data files for direct mailing programs

· Converting data files for multiple file types and formats and from various sources (Excel, CSV, Text, DAT, fixed & variable fields, email delivery, SFTP downloads, etc.)

· Execute all direct mail DP functions as required – CASS, NCOA, Merge/Purge, Postal Presorting, Variable Data Programming

· Utilize direct mail processing and reporting software such as BCC, Planet Press, and Crystal Reports

· Process supplied graphic files for digital document printing – Adobe/PDF, Word, JPEG, Tiff, Fonts, etc.

· Formatting and QC of print files for digital production – laser letters, inkjet addressing, personalized documents, color (CMYK) and black & white, fonts/font sourcing, graphic image resolution, line density, margins, page layouts, print impositions, variable data placement, window positions, simplex/duplex, crop marks, etc.

· Creates appropriate project documentation such as programming results, print proofs, data output reports, etc.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Five or more years of experience in direct mail programming and/or digital document processing

· Experience working with above programming languages and reporting software. Knowledge of Racami is a plus

· Database management experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software

· Knowledge of USPS postal regulations

· Knowledge of report writing tools such as Crystal Reports or Planet Press

· Proficient in using products in the MS Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Access and Excel

· Proficient in using products in the Adobe Creative Suite of programs

· Ability to process, comprehend, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions

· Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in a deadline driven environment

· Team player with constant collaboration with other departments – Account Management, Digital Printing, Mail Production

· Strong written and verbal communication – clear, responsive, proactive, detailed and thorough

· Organized with exceptional attention to detail

· Self-motivated and ability to work independently, resourcefully, and with minimal supervision

· Conscientious and consistent effort to quickly and accurately complete each task as assigned

· Experienced working under HIPAA Privacy Rules and Protected Health Information security compliance
