Direct Mail Programmer/Digital Document Specialist (April 2021)

Type: Exempt, Full Time, 40 Hours per Week (open to Part Time and Contract)

Location: 672 Crescent Street, Brockton MA 02032

Reporting to: General Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

ยท End-to-end processing and programming of customer data files for direct mailing programs

ยท Converting data files for multiple file types and formats and from various sources (Excel, CSV, Text, DAT, fixed & variable fields, email delivery, SFTP downloads, etc.)

ยท Execute all direct mail DP functions as required โ€“ CASS, NCOA, Merge/Purge, Postal Presorting, Variable Data Programming

ยท Utilize direct mail processing and reporting software such as BCC, Planet Press, and Crystal Reports

ยท Process supplied graphic files for digital document printing โ€“ Adobe/PDF, Word, JPEG, Tiff, Fonts, etc.

ยท Formatting and QC of print files for digital production โ€“ laser letters, inkjet addressing, personalized documents, color (CMYK) and black & white, fonts/font sourcing, graphic image resolution, line density, margins, page layouts, print impositions, variable data placement, window positions, simplex/duplex, crop marks, etc.

ยท Creates appropriate project documentation such as programming results, print proofs, data output reports, etc.

Basic Qualifications

ยท Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

ยท Five or more years of experience in direct mail programming and/or digital document processing

ยท Experience working with above programming languages and reporting software. Knowledge of Racami is a plus

ยท Database management experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software

ยท Knowledge of USPS postal regulations

ยท Knowledge of report writing tools such as Crystal Reports or Planet Press

ยท Proficient in using products in the MS Office Suite โ€“ Outlook, Word, Access and Excel

ยท Proficient in using products in the Adobe Creative Suite of programs

ยท Ability to process, comprehend, and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
