Description
Lamjen, Inc. is currently seeking 1st shift openings for a CNC Programmer/ Set Up Technician/ Machinist: Provide programming and machining expertise in support of customer requests. Program, set up and operate machinery for the fabrication of parts. Work assignments are varied and of the highest level of scope and complexity.
Requirements
Set-up, operate, and program CNC machines, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
Conduct periodic inspections to ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
