As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Application Integration Engineer. Project Summary

The Application Integration Engineeris responsible forleading the technical onboarding of application workloads onto AKS, with primary focus on Adexone, BdBridge, and Pipestress. This role bridges the gap between application owners, developers, infrastructure engineers, Kubernetes engineers, DevOps engineers, security teams, and operations teams.The engineer will assess current application architecture,identifydependencies, define runtime requirements, support container deployment,validateconnectivity, coordinate testing, resolve integration issues, and document workload-specific deployment and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assesscurrent-statearchitecture forAdexone,BdBridge, andPipestress, including runtime components, hosting model, dependencies, data flows, authentication patterns, and operational requirements.

  • Identifycontainer image readiness, source repositories, build artifacts, configuration files, deployment manifests, service dependencies, and runtime parameters.

  • Define AKS deployment requirements for each application, including environment variables, secrets, certificates, DNS names, ingress requirements, APIs, databases, file storage, message queues, and external service integrations.

  • Work with Kubernetes and DevOps engineers to translate application requirements into Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts,Kustomizeoverlays, pipeline variables, and release workflows.

  • Validate application connectivity to required databases, APIs, file stores, identity providers, external endpoints, and internal enterprise services.

  • Support application deployment, smoke testing, functional testing, UAT support, defect triage, and remediation.

  • Coordinate with application owners and SMEs to define acceptance criteria, validation procedures, health checks, and go-live readiness criteria.

  • Support logging, telemetry, and alerting requirements in coordination with Operations/SRE and Security teams.

  • Document deployment steps, configuration parameters, dependencies, rollback procedures, known issues, and operational support procedures.

  • Assistwith migration from current hosting models to AKS where applications are already containerized or nearcontainer-ready.

Required For This Opportunity
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise application integration, application deployment, application modernization, or cloud migration projects.

  • Experience integrating applications into containerized, cloud-hosted, or Kubernetes-based environments.

  • Strong understanding of application architecture, APIs, databases, authentication, certificates, secrets, environment configuration, file storage, and release validation.

  • Experience working with Kubernetes deployment concepts including deployments, services, ingress,ConfigMaps, Secrets, persistent volumes, and health probes.

  • Experience supporting application deployments through Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.

  • Ability to troubleshoot application startup failures, connectivity issues, configuration errors, TLS/certificate problems, dependency failures, and runtime exceptions.

  • Experience working directly with application owners, developers, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and operations teams.

  • Ability to document application dependency matrices, deployment procedures, test results, and operational handoff materials.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service.

  • Experience working in Azure Government, GCC High, DoD, DIB, Federal, or regulated enterprise environments.

  • Familiarity withDockerfiles, container image registries, runtime configuration, and image promotion.

  • Familiarity with Helm,Kustomize, YAML manifests, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.

  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, storage services, API gateways, message queues, or enterprise integration services.

  • Experience supporting applications subject to CMMC, CUI, ITAR, NIST, FedRAMP, or similar compliance requirements.

  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, industrial, shipyard, or regulated technical workloads.

  • Experience developing application validation plans, smoke test scripts, and UAT support materials.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $102,000-$154,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
