As a full-time member of our engineering department, you will "hit the ground running" in a dynamic role, working directly with our engineering and architectural staff as well as clients. This position is an excellent fit for someone with strong technical skills, who can lead design processes to align with our firm's vision and standards.

About Us: McKinley Architecture and Engineering (MKA) - a full-service architectural and engineering firm located in Wheeling, Charleston, and Martinsburg, WV and Pittsburgh, PA - has successfully served clients for over four decades. Through in-house collaboration of architects, engineers, and technicians we deliver exceptional service and results. We specialize in designing educational, commercial/retail, industrial, governmental, and institutional buildings. Our commitment to excellence, innovation and growth has earned us high rates of employee engagement and retention, as well as consecutive years of recognition by Inc. • Commitment to Excellence: Be part of a firm recognized for top performance, growth, employee engagement, and retention.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the requirements of current building codes and industry standards, and staying up-to-date with revisions and changes as they are adopted.
  • Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of assigned project designs.
  • Provide a high level of technical leadership, helping build the knowledge and competency of colleagues.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams that include project managers, engineers, and architects to achieve a superior work product.

Requirements

  • Depth of knowledge in NEC and all relevant IBBC codes, including life safety
  • Exceptional design skills with a proficiency in Revit and other computer-aided design software
  • Strong communicator that can speak design concepts to both client and colleague
